Human Rights Campaign
Advocacy • Digital Media • Print
At the Human Rights Campaign, one of the largest LGBTQ+ organizations in the U.S., I designed cross-department campaigns that brought equity and justice initiatives to life across print, digital, and social platforms. From the Back to School 2023 campaign to Trans Justice and HIV & Health Equity initiatives, I created accessible, brand-aligned visuals that amplified advocacy and engaged diverse audiences.

2022 Back to School Campaign
The Human Rights Campaign’s “Back To School As You Are” campaign for 2022 was designed to support LGBTQ+ students of all ages during the back to school season by connecting them with the tools and resources necessary to advocate for themselves. It also aimed to assist parents, legal guardians, teachers, educators and youth-serving professionals challenged with supporting young LGBTQ+ people and allies during troubling times.
My goal was to create a bright, youthful look for the campaign that incorporated hand drawn elements. Our target audience for this campaign were elementary and secondary students as well as educators and youth-serving professionals.

2023 National Day of Reading
For HRC Foundation’s Welcoming Schools annual event, I created the full suite of campaign visuals to support community readings nationwide. This included developing the campaign branding, designing social media graphics that highlighted featured books, producing signage for in-person readings, and building an organizing toolkit for local hosts.
The goal was to create a welcoming, celebratory visual identity that uplifted trans stories and helped communities connect through affirming literature.

Organizing Toolkit
I designed the organizing toolkit to equip educators, families, and community leaders with accessible resources to host inclusive readings nationwide. The toolkit included event planning guidance, book discussion guides, social media templates, and promotional assets—making it easy for local organizers to create affirming spaces that celebrated trans and non-binary youth through storytelling.
Trans Justice Initiative Program Branding
HRC’s Transgender Justice Initiative works with community-based advocates across the country to make impactful changes for trans people. The program aims to combat stigma and discrimination, help end trans violence and HIV, promote sexual health and equity, and provide access to work opportunities, professional development and education.
The program team requested a logo that was in-line with HRC’s branding but also gave them a distinctive look that honors their work and could be used on digital & print marketing materials.
The words Trans Justice Initiative is stacked with the first two words being more prominent. The arrows of the logo represent progress and moving forward in the fight for trans rights. The color of the arrows are a spin on the trans pride flag, but here it features a black/brown gradient which shows the program’s commitment & solidarity to Black and Brown trans people.

Once the initial branding was finalized, I used elements such as the gradient stripes and arrow motif to create retractable banners and a step & repeat for the program’s in-person engagements.
HIV & Health Equity GENERATE Cohort Branding
As part of HRC’s HIV & Health Equity program GENERATE, I developed visual identities for two sub-cohorts designed to reach specific communities most impacted by HIV stigma. One identity was created for a Spanish-speaking LGBTQ+ cohort based in Puerto Rico (Generar), and another for Black LGBTQ+ women (GenHERate).
Each brand direction balanced cohesion with the overarching program while incorporating distinct cultural and community-centered aesthetics, ensuring that the visuals resonated authentically with their audiences and supported the program’s mission of building a generation free of HIV stigma.
Generar
For Generar, the Spanish-language cohort based in Puerto Rico, I created a visual identity that incorporated colors and elements inspired by the Puerto Rican flag, alongside bold and approachable typography and patterns that reflect the island’s pride and resilience.
These choices were intentional in grounding the program’s look and feel in a sense of cultural pride and belonging—ensuring the visuals felt authentic, empowering, and directly connected to the LGBTQ+ communities it was designed to serve.
GenHERate
For the Black LGBTQ+ women’s cohort GenHERate, I created a distinct visual identity that centered cultural pride and empowerment. The logo features wavy lines forming an afro-inspired silhouette, paired with a palette of pink and purple to reflect strength, vibrancy, and community.
This design approach honored the cohort’s unique experiences while aligning with the broader mission of advancing health equity and reducing HIV stigma.
